McPartlon Roofing employs 30 full time people.

Owner, Brian McPartlon, is the General Manager for the company.  Office Staff includes, Brian's nephew, Matthew Berning, Sales Manager, Jennifer Torre, Office Manager, and Georgia Sena-Maese, Receptionist. All calls are answered in person from 8-5, Monday through Friday. Of the 30 employees, Angel Hernandez is the Field Supervisor. He oversees 3 to 4 jobs of various sizes each day. Angel and Brian started working for McPartlon Roofing on the same day twenty-one years ago. Angel's brother Luis started with Kevin twenty-six years ago and supervises the maintenance and warranty departments. He never misses an opportunity to tell the customers that he has been with the company longer than Brian. Of the thirty employees, seven have been with the company ten years or more, and two more than twenty years. McPartlon Roofing also offers paid vacations, health, dental and vision insurance to its employees and their families.

    Job Training

With very few exceptions, all new employees on our roofing crew start as laborers. New employees are first briefed in company policies and chain of command. Laborers are first assigned to tear-off and clean-up crews.  After a two month review period, laborers who qualify are promoted to an apprentice position to be trained by journeyman roofers. The normal time for an apprentice to move up to roofer is two years.  Foreman can achieve this status in four to five years. This process ensures job security for its journeyman roofers who have paid their dues, thus avoiding resentment with existing employees who have put in the years and earned their status within the company.

    Sales

In twenty years of business we had only three salesmen. All have been family members and have worked as journeymen and foremen. It is the company's belief that this  knowledge from hands on training will ensure the thoroughness necessary to educate and inform the consumer of all possible conditions. Our average closing rate is over 60%. Outside sales calls are allowed on a two hour period between appointments. Our average residential sales appointment is 1 ½ hours. This allows the salesman ample time to address any and all questions.

    About Brian

Brian and his wife Marcy have four children and live outside of Santa Fe. They met at the San Francisco Art Institute in 1970 where they both received a Bachelor's in Fine Arts in Painting. Marcy works at home and has authored several children's books. Her current work is about a dog in the Santa Fe rail yard.  This book is being rendered for publication.
